A zombie walkthrough is a video-game parody of the action-horror film genre first witnessed in 1978 with George Romero's Night of the Living Dead. In a first-person view, a player explores a videogame world as if it were their own. They search for "zombies" and kill them, using various weapons and items they have obtained throughout the playthrough. Throughout the process, players find new locations to explore, which can be further investigated after defeating some zombies near them to find caches of useful items such as food or weapons. However, the players' location is fixed, and they cannot move on to new locations until they have killed all of the zombies in their current location. The game has an element of randomness to its gameplay, as each playthrough is unique. Other games of this genre include Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series (2012), Choice of Zombies! (2011), Zombies Took My Daughter 2 (2012) and its prequel Zombies Took My Daughter! (2010), The Last Stand Union City (2013). In a zombie walkthrough, players communicate with an on-screen NPC who gives the player instructions that guide them through the game's narrative. In most cases, these NPCs are characters from the film or television series. The point of view of a character in a zombie walkthrough is usually first person, so that players can physically reach out and interact with items and other characters in the game world. Other common features include a fixed camera angle and a fixed time of day so that gameplay can be paused at any moment to choose an action or to observe what is happening in real time outside of gameplay. As in all games, there are certain things that the player can attempt to do during their playthrough (and any subsequent playthroughs). Successful actions earn the player points, which may be used to unlock later game content. Most actions are tied to successfully fighting an enemy or surviving an attack by them. These actions can be repeated multiple times during one playthough, but only the first time is counted towards this total. It is impossible to win a walkthrough game, as all games are infinite in length. However, it is possible to lose. The game ends if the player's character dies (or rather becomes a zombie) or falls asleep; there is also a mechanic for ending the game prematurely using certain items (a stopwatch and some rat poison). Players accomplish objectives by exploring areas of the game world and looking for opportunities to interact with it. The typical goal in a zombie walkthrough is to find and kill the zombies that spawn in that area. Other activities that players can engage in include: A typical playthrough consists of the player searching for zombies, killing them, and then returning to their shelter, called a "safehouse", for rest. It is usually wise to rest frequently, as zombies do not disappear upon death (many games have a "respawn" mechanic), and until they are all dead, more will continue to appear. Zombies attack using various methods: melee attacks where they try to grab the player and bite them; projectile attacks such as throwing objects and spitting; and ranged attacks such as throwing knives or firing projectiles from guns. cfa1e77820
